Kathy has been a member of the team since September 2009.  A part-timer who has considerable wine knowledge, technical expertise, and people skills, Kathy is one of our finest employees.

Kathy is retired, having worked as a Systems Analyst at Kodak.   Originally from Pennslyvania, Kathy has fallen in love with the Finger Lakes, not only for its wine, but also supreme beauty..  In the Autumn of 2010, Kathy and her husband Ron (also an employee of Ryan’s) embarked on a grand tour of the United States in search of wine from unlikely regions.  “We've been to wineries in Wisconsin, Nebraska, South Dakota, California of course, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas,” Kathy tells us.  “Along with the usual Chardonnays, Pinots and Cabs ... we also tasted Rhubarb, Buffalo Berry, and Pistachio wines.”   

Kathy typically works up front, cashing out customers, but, like her husband, is skilled at assisting customers pick out that perfect bottle.  Somewhat of a wine generalist, Kathy has focused more on Finger Lakes wine and wines from New Zealand.  An excellent cook, Kathy surely knows what wine to pair with almost any dish!

Kathy is scheduled to attend Wine & Spirits Education Trust Level II in early 2012.  She’s been to many wineries all over the country, and shares a large wine cellar with her husband.
